Today marks the beginning of the fourth week of the Advent season.  This last Sunday we will collect for the homeless here in our own city.  These gifts will be taken later today to St. Catharine’s Convent distributed via the St. Catharine’s Convent Homeless project.

Sunday: There is no Coffee morning in the Hall after Mass.

Monday:                     Christmas Eve.                       

Mass at 9.00 a.m. after which will be closed for the day to allow for preparation until the Vigil and First Mass of Christmas at 11.30 p.m. .

Confessions will not be heard today.              

Service of Readings and Carols at 8.30 p.m. in Our Lady’s in Currie.

This will lead straight into the First Mass of Christmas.  It is important to be in the Church for the Carols and the readings since they form an integral part of tonight’s Liturgy.

Friday To mark the Feast of the Holy Innocents, there will be a Mass in St. David’s Dalkeith at 12 noon.  All welcome.

A Letter of Thanks has been received from ‘Aid to the Church in Need’, one of the beneficiaries of the Parish Project.  In it Mr. Willis, the Scottish Secretary says “it is a privilege to accept these ’gifts of love’ on behalf of the persecuted Church.  We will endeavour to distribute this money wisely in support of our mission to help persecuted Christians around the world. Thank you all.”  The full letter is on the notice board at the back of the Church.

The Stall has copies of the ‘Living Faith’ booklet available, priced £1.40.  Please put the money in the little basket beside the booklets.

The Archdiocesan Directory for 2013 is also available, priced £2.00.  Again please put the money in the basket for these books.

Catholic Newspaper buyers please note that this weekend it is is a double issue that has been provided and the price has been increased accordingly.
