Child Protection Mission Statement: In conformity with good practice, we now remind you of the mission statement. “The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God’s purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Safeguarding Awareness Sessions – All volunteers who work with children and vulnerable adults are required by the Archdiocese to regularly attend Safeguarding Awareness Sessions. If you have not been on one within the last couple of years please make an effort to go along to one of the following sessions being held in the Gillis Centre.
Saturday 6 October 2012 from 10.00a.m. until 12.00 noon
Thursday 15 November 2012 from 7.00p.m. until 9.00 p.m.
Saturday 9 March 2013 from 10.00a.m. until 12.00 noon
Thursday 25 April 2013 from 7.00p.m. until 9.00 p.m.
The office staff at Gillis Centre need to know the number of people attending each session in order to have sufficient resources available so please book on either by phoning 623.8943 or by email at childprotect@staned.org.uk and let Monsignor Tony know. If you are not sure whether you should be going please ask. It probably means you should be going.
With every best wish and blessing
to you, your families and those
who are dear to you.
Monsignor Tony.
