Today: The new Eucharistic Ministers’ Rota is ready for collection from the sacristy after Mass. Please note the date of the meeting mentioned below.
Sunday: Normal service resumes with the Fair Trade group in charge of the Coffee Morning in the hall after Mass. In the mean time many thanks to those who kept things going over the holiday period.
Sunday: The Children’s Liturgy will begin next Sunday. If you have children of Primary School age then this is for them. It is not a babysitting service or crèche but is a Liturgy with and for the children which mirrors the Liturgy taking place in the Church but is at the children’s level and in language they will understand. It is an opportunity for them to pray together as the adults do. Please encourage your children to come along and take part.
It is hoped to have a meeting of the existing members and the new members of the Children’s Liturgy team at 49 Craiglockhart Loan. Those who expressed an interest via the recent census form will be contacted direct with more details.
Sunday: Annual Mass in honour of the Venerable Margaret Sinclair takes place at 4.30 p.m. in St. Patrick’s in the Cowgate. All are welcome.
Monday: There will be a meeting of new enquirers and R.C.I.A. team members in the house at 7.00 p.m.
Tuesday: Memorial of St. Cuthbert, our Parish and School Patron.
Mass today will be at 9.30 a.m. when the staff and pupils from the school will be present to mark this special day. I hope as many as possible come along to take part in this Mass at which we ask God’s blessing on the people of our Parish that we continue to grow in love of God and each other. Let us also remember the priests and people of the Parish who served the parish so faithfully over 123 years and have died and gone to their eternal reward.May they rest in peace.

Thursday: Teas, coffees and biscuits have resumed in the house after 9.00 a.m. Mass. All welcome.
Friday: Meeting at the Lauriston Jesuit Centre at 6.00 p.m. to hear from Sister Rebecca, from one of SCIAF’s partner projects in Nicaragua called Special Families. Further information obtainable from Rachel Lamb at rlamb@sciaf.org.uk.
Next Sunday: Meeting for existing and new Eucharistic Ministers at 2.00 p.m. in the Church. Please make every effort to attend.
Next Sunday: The annual pilgrimage at Carfin in honour St. Margaret takes place. Fuller details are on the poster in the porch.
Diary Dates:
15th/16th September: There will be a short meeting of about 15 – 20 minutes for those involved in Church Cleaning already and those who expressed an interest via the census forms returned completely. The meetings will be in the Church after the 6.00 p.m. Mass or after the 10.00 a.m. Mass, whichever you normally attend. You don’t need to come to both !
16th September: Meeting at 2.00 p.m. in the Church for both existing Card Stall helpers and those new helpers who expressed an interest through the census form.
17th September: Meeting of existing members of the Social Committee and those who expressed an interest in becoming involved on the census sheets. It is a planning meeting for the year ahead so come along armed with ideas to the house at 7.00 p.m.
20th September: Meeting of parents of children currently in P4 who will be eligible to be confirmed and make their First Communion. It is at 7.00 p.m. in the Church Hall.
25th September: Planning Meeting for the forthcoming Sale of Work which is due to take place on November 18th. Even if you have been involved before please make every effort to come to this meeting at 7.00 p.m. in the Church Hall. New helpers, volunteers and ideas will be welcome.
12th – 14th October: The Beginning Experience are holding a weekend for those who find themselves alone again through bereavement, separation or divorce. It is taking place at the Xaverian Centre in Coatbridge. More details available from Ros on 0131.669.0003 or roz25@hotmail.co.uk
