Sunday: The children’s liturgy celebrations will resume at the 10.00 a.m. Mass. All children from P1 – P7 are welcome.

Tuesday: Edinburgh Newman Association’s first talk of the New Year will be given by the Circle’s Chair, Jeff Bagnall, former lecturer in Religious Education with the title “Read the Bible but – “What is Truth?” All are welcome to this meeting at
7.30 p.m. at Mayfield Salisbury Church Hall, 18, West Mayfield, Edinburgh, EH9 1TQ. They ask for a small donation to cover their costs.

24th January: To mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity which begins on Sunday 21st January there will be an Archdiocesan Ecumenical Service in St. John Cantius and St. Nicholas in Broxburn at 7.30 p.m. at which the preacher will be the Reverend Matthew Ross, convener of ACTS. All are welcome.
23rd January: Meeting of Parish Pastoral Council at 7.00 p.m. in the Church House.
27th January: St. John Ogilvie’s Senior Citizen’s Party will take place from 12 noon until 4.00 p.m. It includes a 4 course Lunch, Music and Dancing. They have kindly offered six invitations to St. Cuthbert’s parishioners. If you would like to go along please let me know by 22nd January so that I can advise Father Quinlan of numbers required for catering purposes.
29th January: Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Councils of St. Cuthbert’s and Our Lady’s at 7.00 p.m. in St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall.
6th – 13th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. 2018 marks the 160th anniversary of the apparitions. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. You can also find information at www.edinburgh-lourdes.com. The 200 Club subscriptions are now due for 2018. If you are an existing member please put your money in an envelope with your name and number clearly marked on the outside. If you would like to join, and we do need some new members, please put your name and ‘new member’ on an envelope and a number will be allocated to you. It costs £12 per year. Prizes are 3 £10 prizes for ten months and in June and December prizes of £200 and £50 each month. If you are paying by cheque please make your cheque payable to St. Cuthbert’s Church. The first draw for 2018 takes place next Sunday during the Coffee Morning.
