Sunday: There will be a meeting after 10.00 a.m. Mass of the Children’s Liturgy leaders and those interested in being involved in delivering the liturgy. If you are interested or would like to find out more, please speak to Janice Millhouse or Alessandra MacKenzie.
Monday: The first of two reflections given by Father Jim Crampsey S.J. under the title: “The Sermon on the Mount – Reformation: Revolution.” These talks will look at significant sections of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7, including the Beatitudes and the antitheses, and not forgetting the Lord’s Prayer. Can Jesus be seen as a reformer or a revolutionary in his teaching? 2017 is the five hundredth anniversary of the Reformation and the centenary of the Russian revolution. The venue is the Lauriston Centre at the Sacred Heart in Lauriston and it lasts from 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. The second session is on 20th February.
Wednesday: The next meeting of the Edinburgh Circle of the Newman Association takes place at 7.30p.m in Mayfield Salisbury Church, 18,West Mayfield, Edinburgh EH9 1QT. The speaker is Werner G Jeanrond Master of St. Benet’s Hall Oxford who will speak on “New Models of Christian Community: towards a Post-Clericalist Church.” All are warmly welcome to attend.
Saturday: Please remember Simon Mulligan and Holly Munro who are being married in the Church at 3.00 p.m. May the Lord bless them as they begin their married life.
Next Sunday: ‘Remembering Service’ in St John the Baptist’s Church, Corstorphine, at 5.00 p.m. The service is for those who have suffered the death of a child from the beginning of pregnancy onwards, whether recently or at an earlier time. It provides an opportunity to participate in a formal acknowledgement of their grief. Those who wish to come in love and support are also most welcome. The service is ecumenical and open to all.

15th March: A safeguarding training session will take place in the Church Hall at 7.30 p.m. led by one the training team from the Archdiocese. This is an essential requirement for all parishioners who are members of the PVG scheme or who are in the process of joining it. If you have any concerns please ask Mairi Allen, the parish safe guarding coordinator or myself.
7th – 14th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. You can also contact the travel agents direct at Tangney Tours, Pilgrim House, Station Court, Borough Green, Kent TN15 8AF (Tel. 01732.886666 or email to info@tangney-tours.com). Booking for the Saint-Frai Centre must be done through the Hospital Booking Secretary, 61 Hailes Gardens, Edinburgh EH13 0JN – Tel 0131.441.1939. Early booking is advised since there are limited places available especially in the Saint Frai centre.
Lent Reading Groups 2017: This year the Pastoral Resources Team isrecommending the CTS publication ‘Do You Love Me?’ for Lenten reading. This can be used for your personal journey and/or to gather in reading groups to share, reflect and pray together. If you are interested and wish a copy of the book I can place a bulk order. There is a list at the back of the Church.
The Stall has the ‘Day by Day’ booklets for February available for collection or purchase. There are also still some copies of ‘Living Faith’ for January available.
