Today: If you are in the habit of coming to Mass during the week please note that there is no Mass in St. Cuthbert’s until Saturday morning.  There is Mass from Monday – Friday at Our Lady’s in Currie at 9.15 a.m.  There will be a Liturgy of the Word and Distribution of Holy Communion in St. Cuthbert’s on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.00 a.m.

Sunday: There will be no bacon rolls during the coffee morning after Mass for the time being.  There will be continental style fare on offer so why not go round and see what is available. There will be home baking.  Many thanks to the volunteers who are going to keep things ticking over on the Sundays during the holiday period.

Saturday: Please remember Costa Kayember and Karolina Radecka who are being married in the Church at 1.00 p.m.  May the Lord bless them in their married life.

The Parish Project SponsoredWalk beginning at Our Lady’s in Currie and finishing in St. Cuthbert’s Hall duly took place.  25 people were involved some taking longer than others to finish but then that might have been due to a detour they made !  Final call for any money to be handed in please so that a final total can be worked out. There are still one or two to pay before a final figure can be given so please do not delay.

Holidays:  If you are going away, I hope you have a safe journey and come back refreshed and relaxed.  If you are staying at home, I hope you find some time to relax and take a break from your usual routine.

If you are a visitor, you are welcome to our Parish, our city and our country.

Emergency Cover while I am in Lourdes will be provided by Father Tom (449.2372),  Father Tony Quinlan at St. John Ogilvie’s (453.5035) or Father George Donaghy at St. Joseph’s (443.3777)  I am grateful to them for providing this support and to the parishioners who will be looking after the house and leading the liturgies on weekdays.

A Letter of Thanks Has been received from the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society (Kiltegan Fathers) for the very generous response of £1093.17 following on Father Gary Howley’s recent appeal.  The full letter is on the notice board at the back of the Church.

Thanks  to all who organised and all who came along to the Parish Barbeque & Quiz night.  The wet weather did not stop the sum of £480 being raised for the Parish Project Fund.

Please note carefully the times of Mass and services, during the week, while I am in Lourdes.  Mass will resume on Saturday at 10.00 a.m.

A recipe to end hunger: SCIAF is looking for tasty recipes for a 50th anniversary cook book which will celebrate food from Scotland and around the world. The proceeds from the sale of the book will help people in poverty to free themselves from hunger. They’d also love to hear about your memories of SCIAF over the years. Please send your recipes and/or memories to Elaine Coakley at ecoakley@sciaf.org.uk by Friday 18th July. You can also post them to SCIAF, 19 Park Circus, Glasgow G3 6BE.

With every best wish and blessing to you,

your families

and all those who are dear to you

Monsignor Tony.
