The 200 Club subscriptions for 2014 are now due. If you are an existing member please put your money in an envelope with your number and name on it. The subscription is £12.00 per annum. If paying by cheque please make it payable to ‘St. Cuthbert’s Church.’ If you are a new member please put your name and ‘new member’ on the envelope. There are three £10 prizes for ten months of the year and in June and December prizes of £200 and £50. Many thanks for your support.
At this point in time there are 83 unallocated numbers so it not really a 200 club it is a 117 club. If it stays at this level then the prizes given in June and December will have to be reviewed since only 50% of income can be given in prizes. Several existing members have yet to renew their subscription. Please do so as soon as possible so that we can get a clear picture of how many members there are.
Monday: Joint Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Councils of St. Cuthbert’s and Our Lady’s in Our Lady’s at 7.00 p.m.
Tuesday: Meeting with parents of children who are preparing for Confirmation and First Communion at 7.00 p.m. in the Hall. Hopefully every child will be represented but the children themselves do not need to be present.
Diary Dates:
13th February: How can our faith help us in our reflection on the upcoming Independence Referendum? What are our hopes and dreams for our nation, whatever the outcome of the vote? If you would like to take time to reflect on these questions, and support others to do the same, why not train to be a Reflection group leader?
The Justice & Peace office is offering training for individuals interested in leading reflection groups in parishes to reflect on these questions and more in advance of the Independence Referendum. Training for individuals willing to lead the groups is available for the St Giles/Edinburgh Deanery at St Albert’s, George Square Edinburgh. All courses will start at 7.30pm and finish by 9.30pm, unless a local arrangement has been made. Group leader packs and group materials for these groups will be provided at this time.
7th March:The Canon’s Ceilidh with live music led by Dave Vernon. Tickets will be on sale from this week, priced £7.00 and £3.00 (children) which includes Haggis & Neeps. Any profit will go to the Parish Project Fund. It is a Bring Your Own Bottle night.

Many thanks to those who are looking after the house and leading the liturgies while I am in Lourdes at the Conference of Pilgrimage Directors. I will be remembering you and your intentions at the Grotto. In the case of emergency please contact Father Tom on 449.2372 or Fr. Tony Quinlan on 453.5035
The Social Group would be glad to hear of any ideas you have for fundraising for the Parish Project or simply to bring parishioners together socially. With this in mind there is a suggestion box for ideas for events at the back of the Church. The important thing to remember is that the social group will assist or coordinate events but cannot be expected to run them. Hopefully if you have an idea you will take on the planning and running of it with friends or parishioners.
With every best wish and blessing to you,
your families
and all those who are dear to you
Monsignor Tony.
