Today we will be collecting for the homeless here in the city, the gifts being distributed via the St. Catharine’s Homeless Project. It makes you think about what can you give someone who is homeless – gloves, scarves, jumpers, socks are some examples. Volunteers would be appreciated to take the gifts to St. Catharine’s after Mass today.
Sunday: The Tea/Coffee Morning takes place in the Hall after Mass. This week the Vocations Group will be in charge. Why not pop round after Mass for teas/coffee bacon rolls etc and also the chance to meet fellow parishioners?
The half yearly draw for the 200 club will take place with prizes of £200 and £50 respectively.
Sunday: There will be a time of reflection, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction in the Church at 4.00 p.m. Hopefully you will take advantage of this opportunity to stop amidst the business of preparing and spend some time in quiet reflection.
Monday: The second of two sessions on ‘Pope Francis and the Jesuit Legacy’ led by Father James Crampsey in the Lauriston Centre at 7.30 p.m.
24th December: Christmas Eve.
Service of Readings and Carols at 8.30 p.m. in Our Lady’s in Currie.
This will lead straight into the First Mass of Christmas. It is important to be in the Church for the Carols and the readings since they form an integral part of tonight’s Liturgy.

25th December: The Nativity of Our Lord.
Mass at 9.30 a.m. in St. Cuthbert’s.

Please note that the time of Mass is changed from previous years.
This is to allow a less rushed period between Mass in St. Cuthbert’s and Mass in Our Lady’s due to Father Tom being away.

31st December: New Year’s Eve.

Vigil of Prayer for Peace from 7.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.
(This is not Mass but is an opportunity to come together on the last night of the year to give thanks to God for his Blessings and pray particularly for peace in our hearts, our homes, our country and our world.
There will be readings and prayers periodically throughout the time but there will also be quiet time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.)

New Year’s Day

Although today is not a Holy day of Obligation it is an appropriate day to come to Mass and ask God’s blessings on the New Year just begun.
16th January: Following on his recent letter we have been told this week that there will be meeting of the cluster of St. Cuthbert’s, Our Lady’s, St. Joseph’s and St. John Ogilvie’s with Archbishop Cushley in St. Cuthbert’s Hall, probably at 11.00 a.m. The time is to be confirmed. All are welcome to this meeting to hear from the Archbishop his way forward for the restructuring of the Archdiocese.
Many many thanks and congratulations on raising the magnificent sum of £14700.00 for the Parish Projects’ Fund which is now closed. It is a tremendous achievement. The money has been sent on to the beneficiaries and hopefully in the New Year representatives will come along to personally thank you for all your efforts. In the New Year we will ask for suggestions for the next two year period.
