Sunday: The Coffee mornings resume in the Hall after 10.00 a.m. Mass with the Noisy Nutters group again in charge. All welcome.
The first draw of the year for 3 x £10 prizes in the 200 club will also be made. Please remember to pay your subscriptions or if you want to join, and we do need some new members, please put your name and ‘new member’ on an envelope and a number will be allocated to you. It costs £12 per year. Prizes are 3 £10 prizes for ten months and in June and December prizes of £200 and £50 each month. If you are paying by cheque please make your cheque payable to St. Cuthbert’s Church.
Tuesday: Meeting of Parish Pastoral Council at 7.00 p.m. in the Church House.
Wednesday: To mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity which begins on Sunday 21st January there will be an Archdiocesan Ecumenical Service in St. John Cantius and St. Nicholas in Broxburn at 7.30 p.m. at which the preacher will be the Reverend Matthew Ross, convener of ACTS. All are welcome.
Saturday: St. John Ogilvie’s Senior Citizen’s Party will take place from 12 noon until 4.00 p.m. It includes a 4 course Lunch, Music and Dancing. They have kindly offered six invitations to St. Cuthbert’s parishioners. If you would like to go along please let me know by Monday so that I can advise Father Quinlan of numbers required for catering purposes.
Next Saturday/Sunday is the start of Catholic Education week in Scotland. The theme this year, chosen by the Scottish Bishops, is ‘Serving the Common Good.’
There will be a retiral collection after both Masses for the work of the Scottish Catholic Education services which provide resources and support for teachers in our Catholic schools.

29th January: ‘The Claim’ a highly acclaimed film about Archbishop Romero, his people and Pope Francis followed by a Question and Answer session will take place in the Jesuit Centre in Lauriston at 7.30 p.m. All welcome. 6th – 13th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. 2018 marks the 160th anniversary of the apparitions.
