Today:  We will be gathering gifts for the children of prisoners for the first two Sundays and then for the homeless of the city.  These will be distributed via the St. Catharine’s Convent Homeless project.

Next weekend we begin collecting for the homeless here in the City of Edinburgh with the gifts being distributed via the St. Catharine’s Convent Homeless Project

Today: The new Altar Servers’ Rota is ready for collection. It comes into effect this weekend so please collect your copy today from the sacristy.

Today: Lists are at the back of the Church on which Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Passkeepers, people willing to help with the social activities in the Hall after Mass are asked to sign up. There is a separate list for Altar Servers in the Sacristy.

Sunday: The Coffee Morning in the Hall will be organised by the Noisy Nutters Group this week. All are welcome to the Hall after Mass.

Monday: As part of our Advent preparation Canon Dick Holuka S.T.L., M.A. will give an introductory reflection and answer questions on St. Mark’s Gospel which is the Gospel to be used in the new liturgical year which begins on the first Sunday of Advent. It is in the Church Hall at 7.00 p.m. Please bring a Bible or New Testament with you. All welcome.

Monday: Mass for Vocations, celebrated by Father Peter Kelly in St. Joseph’s in Gilmore Place. It is at 7.30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served afterwards.  All welcome.

Wednesday: Penitential Service in Our Lady’s at 7.00 p.m. There will be three priests available to give you the opportunity of coming to confession as part of your Advent preparation.

Thursday: Annual Christmas celebration with Carol Service and Concert in St. Augustine’s High School at 7.00 p.m. All welcome.

18th December: Penitential Service in St. Cuthbert’s at 7.00 p.m. There will be six priests available to give you the opportunity of coming to confession as part of your Advent preparation.

19th December: An Advent evening of reflection through prayer and Christmas music led by the Dovecot Singers in St. Catharine’s Convent at 7.30 p.m. There will be a collection for the St. Catharine’s Homeless Project.  All welcome.

 

23rd December:             Mass in St. Cuthbert’s at 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

24th December:                         Christmas Eve.

This will lead straight into the First Mass of Christmas. It is important to be in the Church for the Carols and the readings since they form an integral part of tonight’s Liturgy.

25th December:             The Nativity of Our Lord.

 

Mass at 9.30 a.m. in St. Cuthbert’s.

Please note that the time of Mass is changed from previous years.

This is to allow a less rushed period between Mass in St. Cuthbert’s and Mass in Our Lady’s due to Father Tom being away.
