Sunday The Children’s Liturgy continues today. If you have children of Primary School age then this is for them. It is not a babysitting service or crèche but is a Liturgy with and for the children which mirrors the Liturgy taking place in the Church but is at the children’s level and in language they will understand. Please encourage your children to come along and take part. It is not suitable for preschool children.
Sunday: The teas and coffees after Mass in the Hall are being looked after by the Noisy Nutters group today. All welcome to go round and sample their fare.
Monday: Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Councils of Our Lady’s and St. Cuthbert’s at 7.00 p.m. in St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall.
Monday: Mass for Vocations, celebrated by Monsignor Philip J. Canon Kerr, in St. Joseph’s in Gilmore Place. It is at 7.30 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All welcome.
Tuesday: Meeting of Parish Fabric & Finance Committee in the house at 7.00 p.m.
Friday: Archbishop Cushley will be celebrating the 9.30 a.m. Mass in the Church to mark the 60th Anniversary of the school building opening on its present site. The staff and pupils will be present and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served in the school afterwards.
Next Sunday: There will be a retiral collection for the Aged and Infirm Clergy Fund. If you intend Gift Aiding this please take one of the special envelopes from the back of the Church today and use that. It needs to be signed on the reverse. Please do not use the special collections envelopes in your ordinary pack
Next Sunday: The annual pilgrimage to the tomb of Venerable Margaret Sinclair to pray for her beatification will take place at St Patrick’s. All are very welcome. A Holy Hour at 2.00 p.m. will be followed by Mass at 4.30 p.m. The principal celebrant will be Archbishop Cushley.
Diary Dates:
20th September: Do you know anyone who might want to know more about the Catholic Faith or is thinking about becoming a Catholic? Or, are you perhaps one of these people? The R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process will begin soon for those who wish to be received into the Church at Easter 2018. If you are interested there will be an introductory explanation of the process at 7.00 p.m. in the Church House. No commitment is made by coming along.
21st September: Illustrated talk and presentation on the History and Characters of the Old Grassmarket (I am too young to figure in it), given by Mr. Tommy Carson, a local historian and guide,. It is in the Church Hall at 7.00 p.m. Admission, with light refreshments, is £3.00 with any proceeds going to the Parish Project Fund
26th September: Meeting for the parents who have children eligible (P3 or above) to make their First Reconciliation next term. It is at 6.30 p.m. in the Church. Registration forms will be distributed so it is important your child is represented. The children do not need to be present.

28th September: The annual Catholic Community Mass for all staff, past and present, teaching and non-teaching who have served and are continuing to serve in our Catholic Schools. It is at 7.00 p.m. in St. Catharine’s Convent,
7th October: The St. Andrew’s First Aid will be running the four hour course for the passkeepers. It will last from 1.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. I need an accurate number since there is a charge per person and packs need to be prepared by the trainer for each participant. Please confirm with me whether you intend to be present as soon as possible by signing on the list at the back of the Church. This is a combined St. Cuthbert’s and Our Lady’s session will be held in St. Cuthbert’s Hall.
