Today: Today (Sunday) marks the start of Catholic Education Week.  This year the theme is ‘Shining
the Light of Christ.’ We are asked to remember all those involved in the work of Catholic Education.  We are asked to reflect on how our words and our actions should show to others what we believe and to give glory to God and especially how our children are formed and educated to bring this about.  Pope Benedict says ‘Catholic identity demands…that each and everyone of your learning communities reverberate within the ecclesial life of faith.  In this way Catholic Schools become places in which God’s active presence in human affairs is recognised and in which every young person discovers the joy of entering into Christ’s being for others.’

The Scottish Catholic Education Service provides a wealth of resources and materials for teachers, parents and pupils.  To support this work, there will be a retiral collection at Mass next weekend.
Today: There will be a meeting after each Mass for those who have volunteered their services to wash and launder the altar linens.  It should only last about 10 minutes. There is still room for more volunteers for this role and for the Church cleaning teams. Many thanks to all those who have offered to help in both areas.  It means the pressure is off a few loyal volunteers.
Today: The Eucharistic Ministers Rota is available in the sacristy.  Please make sure you take your copy and read the notes attached carefully.
Today: The new Readers’ Rota is available in the sacristy.  Please collect this today to ensure you know when you are on duty.
Today: The new church cleaning rota is available in the sacristy.  Please collect it as soon as possible.
Sunday: The Coffee Morning after Mass takes place with the Fair Trade group in charge.  All are welcome to go round to the Hall after Mass. There will also be a stall selling Fair Trade goods.
Tuesday: ‘Should assisted suicide be legalised in Scotland’ – a talk by Doctor Calum MacKellar, Director of Research at the Scottish Council of Human Bioethics and also a member of the committee of the Centre for Bioethics and Public Policy.  This has been organised by the Cathedral Pro Life group and will take place in the Cathedral Hall at 7.30 p.m.  All welcome.
Thursday: The Coffee Morning after 9.00 a.m. Mass takes place.  All welcome.
Next Sunday : The Annual Archdiocesan Mass to mark the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes takes place in the Church at 3.00 p.m. All are welcome whether you have been to Lourdes or not.
