Today there will be a retiral collection for Papal & Episcopal Charities which includes S.C.I.A.F.

Today: The new readers’ rota really is ready for collection. Please collect your copy from the sacristy after Mass today since it comes into effect this weekend.

Today: The new Eucharistic Ministers’ Rotas are ready for collection. Please take your copy from the sacristy after Mass.

Today: The new Altar Servers’ Rotas are ready for collection. Please take your copy from the sacristy after Mass.

Today: If you did not collect your SCIAF materials last weekend there are still some left at the back of the Church.

Today: All of the Parish Project Bonus Ball numbers were taken last weekend. The bonus ball at the draw of 10th March will be the winning number this time. The owner of the winning number will receive £30.00 and the Parish Project Fund will receive £29.00 A new sheet will be ready for next weekend so that you can pick your number, sign up and pay at the end of Mass.

Sunday: The Coffee morning will take place in the Hall after 10.00 a.m. Mass with the Fair Trade Noisy Nutters group in charge. All welcome.

Sunday: Stations of the Cross & Benediction at 4.00 p.m. Any group of parishioners or any individual parishioners who would like to lead the reflection is welcome to do so. Just let me know which Sunday you would like to be involved in.

Monday:   Join the Lauriston Jesuit Centre in Edinburgh for the last in a series of four Lenten talks addressing the question: “Who is my neighbour?” (Luke 10:29). This talk will be given by Alistair Dutton, Chief Executive, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund on the topic of “Our Global Neighbours”. All very welcome.

Wednesday: Celebration of First Reconciliation at 6.00 p.m. for all the boys and girls who have been preparing very hard for this nextr stage on their journey of faith. Please remember them, their families and teachers who have helped this stage.

Diary Dates:

20th March: Meeting of the Parish Fabric & Planning group at 7.00 p.m. in the house.

26th March: Service of Reconciation at 7.00 p.m. in the Church when there will be five priests other than myself available for individual confession and abslution as part of your Lenten journey.

28th March: Mass at 7.00 p.m. Following on the success of the Christmas Big Clean Up there will be an Easter Big Clean up after this Mass.

6th – 13th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. 2018 marks the 160th anniversary of the apparitions. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. You can also find information at www.edinburgh-lourdes.com. During Lent: Mass will be celebrated in the evening on one night during the week.  It will be on a different night each week.  Hopefully this will give an opportunity for those who cannot come to morning Mass to come along as part of their Lenten preparation. This week it is on Friday at 7.00 p.m.

 

A very happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you are being suitably spoiled and looked after by your families.

 

Two different Easter Egg competitions coming:  One is the raffle for the decorated egg and tickets are available as you leave Mass.  The other is for the best  decorated Easter Egg by children with categories being for under 5 year olds, 6 – 10 year olds and over 11 year olds.  £1.00 entry per egg with the judging being done on Easter Sunday. Proceeds from both will go to the Parish Project Fund.
