Today provides an opportunity for me to thank all those who, in so many different ways, keep St. Cuthbert’s working as a Parish. Sometimes it is done in public and obvious, at other times, it is unobtrusive and behind the scenes. Sometimes it is frustrating, taken for granted and unappreciated. The support and encouragement and willingness of these parishioners, young and old, male and female, are an invaluable and essential support for me as Parish Priest. In fact I would go further and say without them, the Parish could not continue to function and I know for certain that I could not. As the parish evolves, there is always room for more to become involved and committed. If you are not sure what you could do please ask
Today: The last few copies of the Archdiocesan Directory for 2018 are available after Mass, priced £2.50.
Today: Please note that there is a basket at the crib for donations to the Archdiocesan Care Fund, a fund which the Archbishop uses to respond to various appeals for assistance he receives throughout the year.
Monday: Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

Safeguarding Mission Statement: In conformity with good practice, the Bishops of Scotland remind you of the Mission Statement. “The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God’s purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.”
With every best wish and New Year Blessing
To you, your families
and those who are dear to you
